Abstract

2268. Perry, C. L., [Sachsische Kartonnagen- Maschinen-Akt.-Ges.]. Jan. 29. B e n d i n g.-A machine for bending leatherboard, pasteboard, &c., of the kind described in Specifications 12,043/92 and 23,735/92 is constructed so as to be capable of readily operating on boards of different thicknesses by regulating the distance between the edges of the clamping- jaws in their depressed position and the surface of the bending hinge bars. As shown, the bending-bars s are supported by a bed b mounted on adjustable springs f, and in the bridge-piece w, which carries the bending-jaws o, are arranged adjustable bolts a which contact with the bed b and so keep the jaws o and bars s from contacting, if no material is being bent, but material placed on the bars s is bent by the actions of the jaws o and bars s. The heads of the bolts a are square to facilitate adjustment, and the extent of .adjustment is indicated by means of graduated rings r splined to the bolts ; lock-nuts g hold the bolts in their adjusted positions.
