6780. Leadbeater, J. W. March 30. Solidifying oils.- A granular enriching and waterproofing compound for fuel of the type described in Specifications Nos. 3891 and 3892, A.D. 1897, is composed of (1) petroleum, preferably crude, or refuse or astatki, (2) dry sawdust, peat, or other granular absorbent, (3) tar, pitch, wood-tar or resin, and (4) dry slaked lime, in stated proportions. The petroleum is mixed with part of the sawdust in a pug-mill or the like, and then the pitch, lime, and remaining sawdust are added in turn. This compound may be added to ordinary fuel, or to a mixture of briquette material and pitch. In the latter case, the compound must be added after the mixture has been heated, and in making the compound only slight heating may be employed.
