Abstract

107,344. Illemann, R. Jan. 2, 1917. Composition fuel.-In a process for making briquettes, clay is mixed with water and the mixture is poured into melted pitch. Coal dust, wood chips, coke, peat, or sawdust are then added and, after mixing, the mass is pressed or moulded into blocks. In one example, 10 lb. pitch, 6 lb. clay, 6 lb. water, and 112 lb. coal dust are used. In another example, the proportions are 11 lb. bitumen, 7 lb. clay, 7 lb. water, and 106 lb. coke breeze. Other proportions may be used.
