Abstract

181,729. Ram, G. H. E. de. July 13, 1920, [Convention date]. Radius-rods.-Relates to means for connecting the rear axle of a motor vehicle &c. to the chassis, which allows independent movement of the road wheels and prevents lateral movement of the axle without subjecting the connections to torsional stresses. The axle casing 34 is connected at its ends to the chassis by arms 35, 36 carried by transverse shafts 39, 40, mounted in bearings 41, 42 on the chassis, and jointed to the axle by ball- and-socket joints 37, 38, one of which is provided with slight side play.
