Butter and cheese cutters.-A machine for cutting cheese into pieces of predetermined weight and cost comprises a detachable circular table A mounted in a wheel B which is rotated by an arm C pivoted on a stud D and working over a graduated quadrant F, the amount of movement of the wheel for a given movement of the arm being controlled bv a second arm C<2> working over a second quadrant E. The arm C<2> is fixed in the required position by a clamp and is connected to the arm C by means of a pivoted link C<1> having a projection c' working in slots in the arm C and in an arm C<3> of the quadrant E. Motion is transmitted to the wheel B by pivoting a link g on a stud g<2> mounted on one end of the quadrant E so as to cause two studs g<1> projecting on each side of the wheel rim b<1> to engage said rim. A similar device H engaged by a projection c<4> on the arm C acts as a brake in the wheel at the end of the stroke. The quadrant F is graduated in shillings &c. and has stops f, f<2>, to limit the stroke of the arm C. The quadrant E is graduated in such a manner that if the arm C' is clamped at No. x on this quadrant, x complete strokes of the arm C are figured to give the cheese one revolution. The table A has projections a and is inscribed with circles so as to hold and position the cheese. A vertical knife pivoted on the frame K cuts the cheese radially.
