Protective arrangements; electromagnetic and magnetic switches; contacts.-Balanced electric relays, for use in conjunction with protective arrangements of the type described in Specification 105,356, are constructed with solenoids E, E<1> mounted in a frame B, their plungers D, D, being hung from an arm A, supported on two fulcra C, C<1>. These fulcra are so disposed that the out-of-balance current must exceed a predetermined proportion of the total current passed before the energization of the coil affected is sufficiently strong to rock the bar A on its adjacent pivot, thereby completing a tripping-circuit through contacts F, G or F1, G1.
