Cut-out arrangements.-A reversing switch 12 controlling a distant electromagnetically operated main switch 13 so that the reversing switch cannot be in a live condition when it is being opened or closed includes a manually-reset no-volt release 24 in the control circuit, and also includes an overload release 28 which has a quick response when the overload is excessive and a delayed response when the overload is moderate. A transformer 22 furnishes current to actuate the main switch. The arrangement may be used in connection with a coal-cutting machine, the motor 11 being enclosed along with the reversing switch in a movable casing.
