Abstract

166,755. B.S.A. Guns, Ltd., and Norman, G. May 10, 1920. Machine guns. - Relates to guns having the standard service breech-action and a small-bore barrel. According to the invention, the adapter, which carries the miniature cartridge, is made slightly smaller, either longitudinally or diametrically, than the service cartridge, so that a service cartridge will not fit the chamber of the gun, and the bore of the adapter is inclined so that the base of the rim fire cartridge is eccentric. In the construction shown, the adapter 1 is slightly shorter than the service cartridge, Fig. 3, and has an inclined bore 4. A screw 9 or spring may be provided to retain the miniature cartridge in the bore.
