Abstract

162,856. Rapid Rims, Ltd., and Jordan, A. Feb. 27, 1920. Detachable-rim attachments to wheels; tyre attachments to rims.-Comprises improvements in wheels of the kind described in Specification 13254/13. The ends of the rim A, Fig. 1, are provided with a tongue A<2> adapted to be accommodated in a recess A<3> to prevent pinching of the inner tube between the rim ends. A transverse strip L, Fig. 7, is provided between the rim and the locking-device, Fig. 9, to prevent web &c. from getting between the rim ends. A boss may be provided around the tyre valve to balance the locking-device. Methods of fitting the rim to different shapes of felloes are described, in one of which one disc of a disc wheel is flanged to present a flat felloe, the disc being cut away to clear the locking-device.
