Abstract

387,117. Vehicle wheels. BARNES, G. 419, Bury Road, Rawtenstall, Lancashire. Jan. 25, 1932, No. 2182. [Class 144 (i).] A wheel for use with solid tyres is adapted to be fitted with a removable disc carrying a pneumatic tyre by cutting away the rim and the greater part of the spokes, leaving short spoke-arms 4 to which a ring 8 is secured to form an attachment-flange for the pneumatictyred wheel disc 10. The ring 8 may be secured by bolts 7, or by welding. In the construction shown, the webs 5 of the spokes are cut down below the ends of the arms 4 to provide a seat for the ring 8.
