Abstract

1535642 Lubricating KOBE Inc 7 Oct 1977 41911/77 Heading F2A The lubricant for the bearings 28 of a pitot pump is cooled by blowing air over heat exchange means (e.g. fins 74) located on the outer surface of the lubricant reservoir 22. The air is forced over the heat exchange means by adapting the pump so that air is drawn via ports 68 from the atmosphere into the housing containing the rotatable casing, within which there is the fixed pitot tube 18, by vanes 66 on the rotatable casing. The air is then forced from the housing via ports 70 over the heat exchange means 74.
