Abstract

To one side of the centre line, a known design is shown in which air can collect in the space between the pump rotor (1) and the seal (4). The liquid is pushed, e.g. to the level (6), so that the seal (4) is not cooled and is damaged. By virtue of the design according to the invention, shown on the other side, in which the section surrounding the seal (4) is located at a lower level than the remaining wall (8), it is not possible for air to collect. <IMAGE>
