Abstract

1529436 Slat blind BESTOBELL HOME PRODUCTS Ltd 21 Oct 1975 [29 Oct 1974] 47043/74 Heading E1J An operating mechanism for a slat blind comprises a rail 11 for supporting an end of the slat, an elongate member 19 parallel to the rail and transversely displaceable, an arm 17 connected to a slat and slidably connected to the elongate member. Each slat is carried by a hanger 16 connected to arm 17 by a pivot pin 15 extending through a body 14 which is slidable along the rail 11. A pin 18 on arm 17 is received in channelsection member 19 which is connected to two gear wheels 21a, 21b by pivot pins 20a, 20b. The gear wheels are supported by pivot pins 24 from a plate 25 and rotated by worms (22a, 22b Fig. 1) which are connected by a rod (23). Rotation of the wheels causes transverse movement of member 19 and hence rotation of arm 17 and the slat about the axis of pin 15. The blind is drawn to the side by a cord connected to the slider body 14 by means of hole 14a. The slats can be vertical or horizontal.
