704,692. Venetian blinds. VENETIAN VOGUE, Ltd. July 14, 1952 [July 13, 1951; July 24, 1951], Nos. 16622/51 and 17506/51. Class 20 (3) The entire lath assembly of a venetian blind is supported so as to be vertically movable relative to a head rail 7 to permit the lath assembly to be raised, or lowered, for positioning its upper end at a desired level below the head rail. Ladder tapes 2, supporting laths 1, are secured at their ends to a lower rail 3 and to an upper tilting rail 4 which is pivotally mounted to a vertically adjustable support rail 17. Blind operating cords 5, 18, pass through a groove 6 in the head rail 7 the cord 18 being adapted to raise, or lower, the support rail 17 with respect to the head rail 7 and the cord 5 secured to the lower rail 3 being adapted to raise, or lower, the laths 1. The cords 5, 18, are clamped in their adjusted positions by jamming cleats 11, 20, respectively. The tilting rail 4 is rocked by worm gear mechanism 15 operated by a pull cord 16.
