Abstract

1513846 Heat-fixing apparatus WIFO WISSENSCHAFTLICHES FORSCHUNGSINSTITUT AG 16 Feb 1977 [18 Feb 1976] 06479/77 Heading B6C Toner images on a copy sheet 4 are heatfixed during transport on the upper run of a seamless, perforated metal conveyer band 5 to which the sheet is held by suction applied to the underside of said upper run. The band 5 is heated by at least one elongate heating element 8, 9, 10, 14 disposed within the zone encircled by the band 5 to heat a portion or portions of the band 5 remote from the fixing zone. A thermal sensor 16 enables thermostatic control of the band temperature. An infra-red heater 61 may additionally be included.
