Abstract

PURPOSE:To make the temp. controlling for transfer, releasing and fixing sure, and improve the transferability and fixing property of the toner to transfer paper by covering an intermediate transfer belt with heat-insulating covers in a copying apparatus which transfers the toner images by way of the intermediate transfer belt. CONSTITUTION:The toner images on a charge holding drum 2 are transferred to an intermediate transfer belt 4 by pressure of a pressing roller 5, and the toner images are transferred and fixed to a copying material 8 by the pressure of a transferring and fixing roller 6 and a pressing roller 7. This belt 4 is covered with heat-insulating covers 12, and said covers 12 have heating mechanisms disposed in required places on the belt side. The surface temp. of the belt 4 is controlled to the transfer temp. having no hindrance for transfer of toner in the position of the drum 2 and to the optimum release transfer temp. for the material 8 in the position of the roller 6 under a constant temp. transition pattern.
