Abstract

Stropping - apparatus. -A device for holding a safety-razor blade during honing or stropping comprises two members a, b loosely secured together by means of a screw c and adapted to grip the blade g between their ends c, f, the gripping action being brought about by separating the members at the other end at d. The separation of the members is effected by means of a cone p on a nut o and a cone n on a spindle, m screwed to receive the nut, the cones taking into recesses formed in the members. In order that the blade edge may be presented to the hone or strop at the correct angle, a roller l, located in an aperture k in the members a, b, is mounted loosely on the spindle m, and the members are chamfered at their blade-gripping ends. To accommodate blades with a thick back, recesses i, j are formed in the members a, b.
