1509343 Cylinder head gaskets GOETZEWERKE FRIEDRICH GOETZE AG 30 March 1976 [2 April 1975] 12764/76 Heading F2B A cylinder head gasket 12 has depressions 21, 22 in its surface 23, 24 enclosing areas which seal core holes 15, 16 of an associated cylinder block 18 or cylinder head 17, the depressions 21, 22 lying on the edges 19, 20 of the core holes 15, 16 and thus reducing damage to the gasket when it is pressed against such edges 19, 20. Fig. 2 shows a metallic gasket 12 with the depressions 21, 22 formed by metal removal. Fig. 1 (not shown) illustrates a gasket 4 of asbestos sheet with a metallic facing 7 and an embedded support, with the depressions 10 pressed into it.
