Abstract

1501373 Making gaskets ENCOLINE (PROCESS) Ltd 2 Feb 1975 1079/74 Heading B5A A method of producing a gasket includes the step of depositing sealant material on to preselected parts of the substrate using a die plate having passages for the sealant opening out into one or more recesses forming the design and is characterized by the depth of the recesses being different or the depth of an individual recess varying across its area. In the embodiment of Fig. 3 passages 18 in plate 20 communicate with a recessed design generally indicated at 22, the thicker parts of the resulting gasket corresponding to area subjected to lower static pressure when in use than the thinner portions.
