1524872 Emergency door opening device P H BRANDSTROM and ASWARD TL 12 Dec 1975 [13 Dec 1974] 51062/75 Heading E2A An emergency opening device for doors intended for opening from one side with a knob 5 and/or handle 2 comprises a bar 3 with two side arms 6 and 6' fixed thereto rotatably attached to the door 1 by means of hinges 7 and 7', a rotatable arm 11 replacing or supplementing the knob 5 a handle 2 and engagable with the lock 4, and a turnbuckle 12 coupling the bar 3 and the rotatable arm 11 so that pressure on the bar 3 in the direction of arrow P serves to rotate the shaft 9 of the lock so opening the door. The bar may be fitted with stop plates 16 and 16' to limit movement of the bar against the door.
