Abstract

149,367. Gregory, A. July 28, 1919. Generating combustion products under pressure, for driving turbines and other engines. Means are provided for enabling the explosive mixture to be fed into the explosion chambers B, B<1> by pumps A, A<1> at a low pressure, consisting of relief valves b<10>, b<11> which are operated by a cam on the shaft a<4> driven from anv convenient source. After each explosion, the combustion products pass through non-return valves b<8>, b<9> to a storage-chamber D. The valves b<10>, b<11> are subsequently opened to relieve the back pressure on the pumps or other means for supplying the gaseous mixture to the explosion chambers. The storage-chamber D is provided with a jacket through which the exhaust gases from the turbine or other engine may be passed.
