Abstract

1493632 Mountings DEFENCE SECRETARY OF STATE FOR 16 Sept 1975 [20 Sept 1974] 41101/74 Heading F3C [Also in Division G2] A mounting system to enable fine adjustment in azimuth for heavy equipment such as telescopes or guns 1 that are mounted on vehicles for which the primary aiming in azimuth is achieved by directing the vehicle, comprises two coaxial trunnion pins 4 each having an eccentric bearing portion 8 on which the equipment is mounted, whereby rotation of the equipment about an axis perpendicular to the axis of the trunnion pins can be achieved by axial rotation of the trunnion pins in opposite directions. The bearing portions incorporate self-aligning bearings. Each trunnion pin is supported by bifurcated extensions of the arms 2, 3 of a fixed, fork-type mounting.
