Abstract

1492043 Fuel injection pumps CAV Ltd 11 March 1975 [16 March 1974] 11781/74 Heading F1A In fuel injection apparatus comprising a fuel injection pump and an angularly adjustable metering valve-member 30, in the supply passage from a feedpump, an electro-magnet 44 is de-energizable to allow the valve-member 30 to move axially to an inoperative position in which flow therethrough is prevented irrespective of its angular position. The electromagnet is shown energized whereby an armature 43a maintains a lever 41a in a position in which a port 31a in the member 30 can register with a port 32. The member 30 is angularly adjustable by linkage (not shown) movable by a lever 40 controlled by a centrifugal governor and operator tensioned spring. On de-energization a leaf-spring 45 moves the lever 41a away from the valve-member 30 thereby allowing the feedpump pressure to move the valve member to the inoperative position. The injection pump described is of the radial piston rotary distributer type, Fig. 1 (not shown).
