Abstract

1480612 Rotary dead-bolt fastener G P WORSLEY & CO Ltd 30 Jan 1975 [28 March 1974] 13767/74 Heading E2A A device, intended to fasten hinged doors, windows &c in the closed position, comprises a keeper 12 which is attached to the door or window casing and a handle part attached to the movable part. The handle part consists of an integral base plate 10 and parallel tongue 15, which have been formed by striking the tongue out of the sheet metal plate 10, with a part 16 of the handle pivotably held between them. The handle is a rotary dead-bolt and is pivotable into and out of fastening engagement with the keeper 12. The pivot is preferably formed from a pin 19 having a head 20 which is disposed in the aperture formed by striking the tongue from the base. Keeper 12 preferably comprises a base portion used for attachment to the casing and a wedge portion 25 which engages the handle. These two portions may be set at an angle slightly more than 90‹ so that a camming action arresting in the firm closure of the window or door is provided.
