Abstract

1479826 Tents J O BLACK 16 April 1975 [23 Sept 1974] 15644/75 Heading E1A A tent comprises two oppositely disposed ground engaging side plates, a plurality of bows having their ends pivoted to the side plates and arched therebetween with a pair of horizontal bows engaging the ground, a pair of vertical or central bows and intermediate bows. Fabric 33 spans the area between the bows and at least one end of each central bow is connected to a gear by which the central bows are moved between vertical and horizontal positions. The gear may comprise electrically or mechanically operated toothed gear wheels. The ground engaging bows may be raised and lowered by pulling on a string engaging eyes on each bow or may be operated also by toothed gear wheels. The tent may be hemispherical and a gutter provided on one of the central bows under the central join of the centre opening.
