Abstract
1468820 Rotary cultivating implements MECHGARD Ltd 5 June 1974 [16 June 1973] 28720/73 Heading A1B An output shaft 38 of a powered rotary cultivator extends from opposite sides of a gear box housing 10 to receive slip fittingly and rotatably two first cylindrical sleeve members 18 having pairs of aligned slots 28 and 32', 32", and tines 22, 24, one pair of slots 28 being perpendicular to the other pair 32', 32", the shaft 38 also receiving screw threadedly as at 64, 66 two second sleeve members 20 which also have tines and which, when fully screwed, press the sleeve members 18 towards the housing 10, the arrangement being such that the tines 22, 24 of the sleeve members 18 may be arranged in or out of alignment with the tines (not shown) of the sleeve members 20 by rotating the first sleeve members 18 about the shaft 38 until a selected pair of aligned slots register with a diametral hole in the shaft 38 whereby the sleeve members 18 can be locked to the shaft 38 at the selected position by pins 26, 30 entering the slots and the diametral hole. Drive to the shaft 38 is transmitted from a worm gear (not shown) rotated by a drive shaft (not shown) extending from a motor housing 12 to a toothed gear wheel 34 splined to the shaft 38.
