Abstract
1452660 Ni base alloy powder GENERAL ELECTRIC CO 25 Sept 1974 [26 Sept 1973] 41711/74 Heading C7A A nickel base alloy powder of composition:- such that:- Mo+W } maximum of 3À6 at % Nb+Ta+Hf+Zr } minimum of 0À3 at % the carbide in the alloy being predominally MC type of size 0À2 to 1 micron and M 23 C 6 carbide being absent. The powder may be placed in stainless steel containers which are evacuated, sealed and extruded at 1850 to 2250‹F to produce bars. The powder may be used in other powder metallurgical processes to produce gas turbine wheels and blades in which carbide segregation to prior particle boundaries is absent and in which the Ni matrix contains in addition to borides and/or carbides only the gamma prime phase.
