Abstract

1446526 Watch straps TIMEX CORP 25 Nov 1974 [14 Jan 1974] 51019/74 Heading A3H [Also in Division E2] A watch strap adapted to be secured about the bail pin of a watch case comprises a pair of strap elements 12 each of which includes two plastics layers connected along their edges, the outer layer being longer than the inner layer. A stud plate 13 having a base portion 26 is positioned between the layers and a stud 27 thereof projects through an aperture 32 in the inner layer. A keeper plate 14 is disposed on the projecting end portion out the outer layer and an aperture 29 in alignment with an aperture in the outer layer is provided therein. In use the projecting end portion of the strap element 12 is folded back about the bail pin and the stud 27 is snapped into the aperture 29. As shown two studs 27 and corresponding apertures 29 are provided but if the strap element is to be used with a ladies watch case only one of each may be provided (Fig. 5, not shown). The studs are provided with lips 28 which produce the snap action, the depth of each lip 28 being no greater than the thickness of the outer layer. A flexible plastics intermediate layer may be provided between the inner and outer layers and a further like layer 23 over the end portion of the outer layer to form a pocket for the reception of the keeper plate 14. The stud plate 13 and keeper plate 14 are provided with anchoring apertures 31, 34.
