Abstract

899,875. Sliding-clasp fasteners. LANDRICHTER, A., and LANDRICHTER, E., [trading as ZELZER & CO. O.H.G.]. Sept. 12, 1958 [Sept. 12, 1957], No. 29363/58. Class 44. A sliding clasp fastener for interconnecting the edges of two sheets of flexible material comprises two elongated mating members 1, 2 of identical cross-sectional shape and of resiliently deformable material, e.g. synthetic plastic, each member being connected to a stringer band 3 or 4 and having at least one lip 5 or 6 for engagement with the lip on the other member and having a locking strip 7 or 8 projecting beyond the lip thereon, the locking strip having a free edge 13 or 14 adapted to engage in a recess 11 or 12 in the other member at a position spaced from the abutting surfaces of the lips in the direction of the outer edge of the stringer band which is connected to the other member. In another embodiment, Fig. 3 (not shown), the members are each provided with two lips and with a locking strip having two lugs for engaging grooves in the other member. The members are formed integrally with the stringer bands. The members may be formed with slots extending transversely of the members to increase the flexibility thereof. The lips may also be slotted.
