1431841 Opthalmic-nutritional preparations S C EVANS 14 Sept 1973 [15 Jan 1973] 2043/ 73 Heading A5B Opthalmic-nutritional preparations to be used independent of or in conjunction with orthoptic therapy which may be in tablet, powder, capsule or liquid form, as an injectable, suppository or as an eye lotion or drop or other pharmaceutical preparations, contain the following nutrients substantially in the following relative quantities per unit dose viz. (a) vitamin A or Retinol 10000 to 60000 international units, (b) Vitamin B, or Thiamine 0.5 mg, (c) Vitamin B2 or Riboflavine 0.5 mg, (d) Vitamin B6 or Pyridoxine 0.5 mg, (e) Vitamin B12 or Cyanocobalamin 0.5 mcg, (f) Vitamin C or ascorbic acid 125 to 2000 mg, (g) Vitamin D or Ergocalciferal 1000 international units, (h) Vitamin E or alpha-tocopheryl 25 to 200 mg, (i) Vitamin K phytomenadione or mendrol sodium diphosphate 1 mg, (j) Folic acid 0.5 mg, (k) Pantothenic acid 5.0 mg, (1) Niacin or Nicotinic acid 7.5 to 20 mg, (m) Para-amino benzoic acid 10 mg, (n) Calcium lactate, Glucoheptonate or pantothenate 200 to 2000 mg, (o) Choline 250 mg, to be taken together with the patient's existing diet. The preparations may be combined with inositol, glucose, additional nutrients and/or minerals e.g. Vitamins A, C, E or PP (nicotinic acid), and/or protein such as dried yeast or milk.
