Abstract

218,026. Higgins, E. T., and Whitehead, E. April 7, 1923. Continuous discharge apparatus with stationary containers.-Mixing apparatus for powdered substances comprises a number of hoppers each discharging into a screw conveyer leading in turn to main screw conveyers arranged on either side of the mixing chamber. The material is then passed through a rotary sieve and gravitates on to further conveyers discharging into a number of outlets. The hoppers b, c, d discharge into conveyers b<1>, c<1> d<1> leading to the conveyers a', a<2> on either side of the mixer e fitted with an agitator e<1>. The hopper a discharges directly into the main conveyer a<1>. From the mixer the material is led to a conveyer f, to the sieve g, and passes to the discharge outlats h<2> by means of conveyers h, a central outlet h', and conveyers h<2>.
