Abstract

1408196 Sliding clasp fasteners YOSHIDA KOGYO KK 9 Aug 1972 [12 Aug 1971] 37219/ 72 Heading E2S A concealed sliding clasp fastener has opposed tapes T, T' with reinforced edges 19, 19' and element receiving openings 12, each tape carrying a row of interlocking fastener elements E in meandering form, each element having a coupling head, merging upper and lower leg portions, and first and second base portions. The upper leg portion 15 is bent upwardly and the lower leg portion 16 is bent upwardly and inwardly into alignment with the base portion 17a whereby to define a space 18 for the reinforced edge 11 of the tape T. The base portions 17a are inserted through the openings 12 and secured by stitching S 1 and the edge 11 is secured by stitching S 2 . In other arrangements Fig 4-7 (not shown), the upwardly bent sections of the portions 15 is omitted, (Fig 4), the inwardly bent section of the portions 16 lie beneath the edge 11, (Figs 5, 6) and the inwardly bent section of the portions 16 is omitted (Fig 7).
