Abstract

1378137 Sliding clasp fasteners CUCKSON-SCOVILL PTY Ltd 24 May 1973 [30 May 1972] 25006/73 Heading E2S A sliding-clasp fastener 10 of the invisible type comprises a pair of coplanar fabric webs 12, 14, spaced U-shaped plastics fastener elements 20, 22 each attached by their legs 16, 18 in spaced relation to a cord 26 and to a foldedover edge 30 of a respective fabric web and a slider 40 comprising a base 42 and side flanks 44, 46 and a Y-shaped throat 48 for receiving the elements, the slider having an open top and a post 58 extending from the centre line of the base, and flanges 50, 52 extending inwardly from the side flanks 44, 46 between the legs of the elements 20, 22. As shown, the legs of the elements are enlarged at 36, 38 for engagement in grooves 54, 56 in the slider base. In other arrangements, Figs. 6 and 7 (not shown), enlargements are arranged to project into grooves in the slider flanges or into grooves provided on the flanges and in the base.
