Abstract

1403107 Road-vehicle couplings EDUARD BESCH & CO 7 July 1972 [7 July 1971] 32066/72 Heading B7T A device for forming part of a stabilizing assembly for use between a trailer and a towing road vehicle, comprises a bar 12 having a central portion and two symmetrically arranged arms extending from the central portion, the bar 12 being provided with at least one pair of pins, e.g. the pins 17, each for the attachment of a damper, the central portion of the bar being provided with a clamping member 13 which enables the bar to be applied and clamped to a hitch pin 10 in a selected position therealong spaced from a coupling ball 11 at an end of the hitch pin. In use, dampers are connected between the pins 17 and the trailer and the stabilizing assembly acts to stabilize relative angular movement between the trailer and the towing vehicle. In a modification of the device as illustrated, the arms of the bar 12 are extended outwardly and are each provided with a plurality of holes to enable the positions of the pins mounting the dampers to be varied or to enable attachment of more than two dampers.
