Abstract
1402015 Anti-snaking devices for use with vehicle couplings EDUARD BESCH & CO KG 7 July 1972 [7 July 1971] 32065/72 Heading B7T An anti-snaking device for use with vehicle couplings comprises a pair of shock absorbers 31 arranged one on each side of a tow bar 10, and each connected at one end to the towing vehicle and the other end by a ball-and-socket coupling 26, 27 to a first apertured bar 22 which is rigidly bolted at 24 to a second apertured bar 19 which in turn is bolted at 20 to an attachment member 15 bolted to an arm 13 of the tow bar. The arrangement is such that by bolting the member 15 on to the arm 13 at different locations and choosing different apertures 20, 23 of the bars 19 and 22 for bolts 20, 24 the spacing between the shock absorbers can be varied according to the type of tow bar and the condition of the trailer. If the tow bar 10 does not have members 12, 13 attached to it, members 15 may be replaced by a single member.
