Abstract

1400400 Electric couplings DELTA ENFIELD CABLES Ltd 6 Nov 1972 [5 Nov 1971] 51604/71 Heading H2E A multi-core cable is terminated, or connected to a similar cable, by a connector having axially spaced terminals 41-44. The cable cores such as 1 are connected to the terminals by intermediate contact members 58. The terminals are circularly symmetrical so that each cable core can be connected to its terminal at any angular position around the axis. Conductors 54, 55 extend from the terminals 41-43 through the terminal 44, either to an accessory or to similar terminals 45-47 for a second cable. The terminal 44 may be used for both cables, as shown, or may have its own conductor extending to a further terminal. The cores may be brazed or soldered to intermediate contact discs 58 bolted to the terminals 41-47. In another embodiment (Fig. 1, not shown) the terminals (11-13) are cylindrical and the cores and connected thereto by pairs of clamp members (20, 21).
