Abstract
239,112. Rasoir Apollo. Dec. 2, 1924, [Convention date]. Razors, safety. To ensure that the same face of the thin blade of a safety razor is always in contact with the guard, the blade is provided with cut-out parts asymmetrically disposed relatively to the longitudinal and transverse axes thereof and which are engaged by studs or lugs similarly positioned on the holder. As shown the thin blade 4 has notches at its sides which are engaged by the plugs 5, 6 of the cap or backing 3 of the blade holder and the blade must always be placed on the guard 2' with the same face adjacent thereto; the lugs and notches are symmetrically disposed relatively to the centre of the blade and holder so that the blade can be turned through an angle of 180 in the holder. The blade may have perforations and the holder studs similarly arranged; the asymmetrical perforations or notches in the blade may have portions symmetrically arranged relatively to the longitudinal and transverse axes thereof so that the blade may be used in the usual manner in ordinary holders having positioning studs or lugs symmetrically arranged thereon. When the blade has a single cutting-edge, a single notch asymmetrically arranged is used and the blade may be used in the ordinary razors having no positioning lugs or studs.
