Abstract

1393280 Spray carburetters ROBERT BOSCH GmbH 17 May 1972 [18 May 1971] 23065/72 Heading F1B A fuel injection system as claimed in Specification 1366606 also includes a by-pass interconnecting portions of the inlet manifold upstream and downstream of the measuring element, said by-pass being controlled by a valve. A by-pass passage 60 around the gauging element 2, contains a stop valve 61, the valve member 62 of which is biased by a spring 63 to the open position and which is moved to the closed position by energizing a solenoid 64 from a battery B. The circuit is broken by a switch 67, when the vehicle is driving the engine, the moving member of the switch being connected to a diaphragm 69, the space 71 above the diaphragm being connected by a tube 72 to a point immediately downstream of the throttle valve 7. The circuit also includes a switch 66 which is open when the ignition is switched "OFF". The valve 61 may also be actuated in dependence on the position of the throttle valve and upon the speed of the engine, so that the valve is open when the throttle is closed and when the engine exceeds a pre-determined speed i.e. the throttle valve reaches a specific position.
