Abstract

1,214,071. Spray carburetters. SOC. INDUSTRIELLE DE BREVETS ET D'ETUDES. April 1, 1968 [April 6, 1967], No.15557/68. Heading F1B. During deceleration the quantity and richness of the mixture are increased compared with that at idling. A passage 14 is branched off from the idling passage 6 and is adapted to supply additional rich mixture when a cock 13 therein is opened. The cock 13 is connected to a lever 19 freely pivoted on the throttle spindle 15 and carrying a stop 20 cooperating with throttle operating lever 16. The lever 19 is operated by a diaphragm 24 responsive to reaction downstream of the throttle valve through a pipe 26 containing a cock 27 which is opened during deceleration by an electromagnet 30 controlled by a speed responsive device R e. g. as described in Specification 1, 099, 350. On opening of the cock 27 during deceleration, the suction activates diaphragm 24 to move lever 19 to the left to open throttle valve 2 slightly and open cock 13 to admit additional rich mixture through pipe 14. In a modification, Fig. 6, the suction during deceleration also operates an ignition retard device 43. In Fig. 4 the additional air and fuel pipes 12, 36 are both controlled by a single valve 34 activated by an electromagnet 30a.
