Abstract

1386941 Knitting-machines P MAYER [trading as MAYER & CIE MASCHINENFABRIK] 16 Jan 1973 [8 Feb 1972] 2171/ 73 Heading DIC A multifeed circular machine has a set of pattern slides at each feed, which can be set in turn by a single set of electromagnetic controls 20 which rotates in synchronism with the cylinder 26. Information is supplied from a programme in a housing 22 via connecting lines 17, slip rings 18 and an intermediate store 21. The control comprises a staggered series of electromagnets 30 having armatures 31 integral with slides 32. The slides can be urged into a forward, active, position by springs 34 fixed in turn in slots 35. A bar 38 engaging notches 36, 37, holds the slides in set positions, but is released by a sensing lever 39 and a roller 40 running on cam 41. Each feed has associated with it a bank of spring-urged slides 45 also lockable with releasable bar 52. A cam 54 attached to the housing 44 of the bank returns slides 32 to a withdrawn, inactive position for re-selection prior to the next feed.
