Abstract
1375821 Spreading granular material AMAZONEN-WERKE H DREYER 15 Dec 1972 [15 Dec 1971] 57935/72 Heading AID [Also in Division B8] A spreader for granular or pulverulent material comprises a frame 1 supporting a hopper 2 and which is connectable to a tractor (not shown). A bevel gear 7 driven by the drive shaft of the tractor is mounted in drive means 4 to rotate a cross-shaft 8 through bevel gear 10. Two worm conveyers 20 are driven by conical ends of the shaft 8 engaging sleeves 22 mounted on the end of worm shafts 21. A bevel gear 11 fixed on the shaft 8 drives an agitator 16 in the hopper 2 by rotating shaft 13 through bevel gear 12. In operation material from the hopper 2 flows through conduits 30 to the worm conveyers 20 and is spread via outlet apertures 31 in housings 24 onto the ground. The conveyers 20 are a push fit on bosses 9 on the drive means 4 and may be readily removed with the conduits 30 by releasing hooks 26 from lugs 27 on the hopper 2 which carry supporting cables 25. The agitator 16 may be removed upwardly from the shaft 13 and a centrifugal disc 18, shown ghosted, mounted on the shaft 13 when the agitator 16 may be replaced. Material may then flow directly from the apertures 29 onto the disc 18.
