W I B A U WESTDEUTSCHE INDUSTRIE -UND STRABENBAUMASCHINENG.m.b.H. 12 Jan., 1967 [12 Jan., 1966; 18 Feb., 1966; 30 March, 1966; 27 April, 1966; 19 Aug., 1966; 15 Oct., 1966], No. 1775/67. Heading B1C. A mixer for liquid and granular material (e.g. mastic asphalte) comprises a jacketed container 1 having rotating stirrers 3 comprising discs with apertures 4 angled to the shaft 2 and to each other. There may be a scraper blade 5, and vertical baffles 6 attached to the container wells. Shaft 2 may also carry a cylindrical body 14 to prevent access and adherence of the material to the shaft. The apparatus may have thermostatically controlled heating or cooling; means 8 for metering the liquid binder; and means for operation under increased or reduced pressure.
