Abstract

1366072 Rotary mower W T TEAGLE 24 Aug 1971 [20 July 19701 35055/70 Heading A1F . by belts 19 and 20 (Fig. 2) such that equal belt tension is applied to both cutter unit rotors 17 and 18. Belts 19 and 20, connected to sheave pulleys 21 and 22 on driving shaft 23 which may be connected directly to the power take-off shaft of tractor 2, pass from pulley 21, around pulley 17, then around pulley 22 on shaft 23, around pulley 18 before passing back to pulley 21. The driving shaft 23 may constitute a high-speed shaft of a gear box, the low speed shaft being connected to the tractor power take-off. Cutter units 4 and 5 comprise a central shaft supported by frame 1 and spaced from a ground engaging skid by spacer sleeves. The cutters 16 are yieldably secured to bifurcated blade carriers 14. Frame 1, detachably secured to a power lift linkage, is provided with a ground wheel 3 which may be omitted when the tractor is provided with hydraulic depth control.
