Abstract

1364072 Compressors LENNOX INDUSTRIES Inc 31 Aug 1971 [1 Sept 1970] 40652/71 Heading F1N [Also in Division H2] A reciprocating piston compressor has a cylinder block 18 provided with an upwardly extending arcuate portion 22 and a driving motor 50 held against the arcuate portion 22 by a single metal band 58 or several turns of wire. The band 58 has looped ends 59 for receiving T- members 80, the legs of the members 80 passing through holes 89 in the arcuate portion 22 whereby nuts 81 screwed on to the legs tension the band. The motor rotor 54 is secured to one end of a crank-shaft 30 journalled in the block 18 and a bearing plate 70 secured by bolts 71, 72 to the block. Gas enters the compression chamber 42 through a pipe 40 and is discharged through a valve assembly 34 into a cup-member 36 held in position by a retaining ring 38.
