Abstract

1359636 Lampholders LINOLITE Ltd 14 Sept 1971 [22 Sept 1970] 45096/70 Heading H2E [Also in Division F4] A lighting fitting for a tubular filament lamp 22 includes two lamp holders 6 at least one of which is movable axially of the tube to accommodate different length tubes. The holders are telescopically arranged within a square-sectioned tube 4 and biased towards each other by springs 24, which springs also serve as conductors connected to the holder contacts 12, the contacts being less stiffly biased towards the tube than the springs 24. The socket of the holder includes a bevelled edge 28 which engages the glass of the lamp tube. The end 16 of the contact 12 engages the contact 18 of the lamp tube end cap 20. British and Continental standard tubes, differing in length and diameter, may be accommodated.
