Abstract

1355364 Fluid pressure actuators LIVINGSTON & DOUGHTY Ltd 5 June 1972 [15 June 1971] 27906/71 Heading F1D An adjustable stop for a piston 5 in a cylinder 4 comprises an auxiliary piston 15 which is caused to protrude into the cylinder 4 by pre-selected amounts by applying fluid pressure through a connection 14. Pressure is transmitted by a sealing cup 19. A spring 17 returns the auxiliary piston 15 until a shoulder 16 abuts a flange in the cylinder. A seal 18 prevents leakage from the main cylinder 4. Pressure is supplied by a master-cylinder M through a pressure control V calibrated in terms of stroke length. (For Figure see next page)
