Abstract

1354143 Gripping devices APPARATENBOUW MOBA NV 23 June 1971 [23 June 1970] 29417/71 Heading B8H [Also in Division G1] A gripper device 4 which is shown in Fig. 1, in use with a weighing device comprises two fixed gripping fingers 31, 32 and a movable finger 30 which is mounted on a gripper arm 26 rotatable about a shaft 25 berween the closed and open positions, Figs. 4A, 4B, respectively of the gripper device. A control arm 12 is connected to the gripper arm 26 by means of a shaft 11 on which is pivotally mounted a first pivotal arm 20 which is pivotally connected by means of an extendable spring 22 to a second pivotal arm 24 which is mounted for pivotal movement about the shaft 25, and on rotation of the control arm 12 the gripper arm 26 and finger 30 is moved from the open position of Fig. 4B, to that of Fig. 4A, in which the gripper is closed and held in that position by means of a latch (15), Fig. 2 (not shown), which engages a locking surface (14) mounted on the control arm 12. To open the gripper the latch (15) is released by rotation of an associated arm (18), e.g. on moving the complete device until arm (18) abuts a fixed stop 34, the gripper arm 26 moving under the influence of a spring 28 into the position of Fig. 4B, against the action of the spring 22. The gripper device is attached to one end of a weighing beam 3 at a pivot connection 5, the beam 3 being carried by a rotatable shaft 2, the other end of the weighing beam 3 being connected to an adjustable weight 6 which is partly formed by permanent magnets 7. A coupling rod 9 is rotatably connected with both the frame 1 of the weighing device and the gripper device 4.
