Abstract

1343551 Jelly like detergent composition KAO SOAP CO Ltd 2 June 1972 [9 June 1971] 25905/72 Heading C5D A jelly-like detergent composition consists essentially of (A) 8 to 30% by wt. of a straight chain or branched chain alkylbenzene sulphonate detergent, (B) 10 to 62% wt. of a polyoxyethylene non-ionic surfactant and (C) water: the sum of ingredients (A) and (B) being 25 to 70% wt. of the composition. Compounds (B) are ethylene oxide condensates of C 8-22 aliphatic alcohols and C 8 -C 18 alkyl phenols with 1 to 8 oxyethylene units, which have a HLB value of 5 to 11. Part of ingredient (B) may be replaced by (C) a glycolether solvent in quantities of not more than 6% wt. of the total composition, and / or (D) a dialkylsulphosuccinate in not more than 5% wt. of the total composition. The composition is applied to heavily stained clothing to remove oily dirt prior to washing.
