Abstract

1334032 Magnetic stirrers LKB-PRODUKTER AB 23 July 1971 [10 Aug 1970] 34799/71 Heading B1C Fluid flowing through a cylindrical vessel 1 is stirred by rotation of a stirrer 2 consisting of a transversely magnetized rod situated between the poles 5, 6 of an electromagnet 7 energised by an AC source 10 which preferably consists of a frequency-variable oscillator. The stirrer may have vanes 11 which may be formed in a cover of, e.g. polytetrafluoroethylene. The rod 2 may have a bore, or may have a screw-shaped external surface to provide a pumping effect.
