Abstract

1333210 Metallic floor structures ENTRE POSE 5 Aug 1970 [12 Aug 1969 30 Jan 1970] 37835/70 Headings E1K and E1W A metallic framework for a floor, shown sectionally in Figures 2 and 3, consists of (a) longitudinal sheet metal frame members 1, each closed along at least part of its length by a plate 3, (b) cross-pieces 4 interconnecting the frame members and (c) L-shaped flanges 6 which extend along opposite ends of the framework and which are secured to the ends of the frame members 1. As shown, each flange 7 is provided with an upstanding lip and a ribbed sheet 11 is laid on the framework. In an alternative form, Figures 7 and 8, the outer frame members 1, and 1b, each have the shape of a right angled trapezium and the cross-pieces 30 are of folded sheet steel and define channels of trapezium-shaped cross-section. Agglomerated rockwool strips 35, in which are embedded soft iron parts 36, are glued to the sheets 3, 3 1 , 3 2 . Ceiling panels 37 provided with corresponding magnets are thereby attached to the bottom surface of the floor. The spaces inside and between the frame members may be filled with coated rockwool panels.
